How to Delete Your Account

You can request the deletion of your StartMessaging account and all associated data at any time. There are two ways to initiate account deletion:

Option 1: Through Your Dashboard

  1. Log in to your StartMessaging dashboard at app.startmessaging.com
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
  3. Confirm your request by entering your password
  4. Your account will be deactivated immediately and permanently deleted within 30 days.

Option 2: Via Email

  1. Send an email to startmessagingdotcom@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account
  2. Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include your registered email address and company name
  4. We will process your request within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account profile and credentials
  • All API keys and webhook configurations
  • Message templates and chatbot flows
  • Contact lists and audience segments
  • Campaign history and analytics data
  • Message logs and delivery reports

What We Retain

Per legal requirements, we retain the following for the specified periods:

  • Billing and tax records: 7 years (required by global tax regulations).
  • Aggregate anonymized analytics: Indefinitely (cannot be traced back to you).
  • Legal compliance records: As required by applicable law.

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Active subscriptions will be canceled immediately with no refund for the current billing period.
  • If you have an Enterprise plan, please contact your account manager before requesting deletion.
